I'm glad the list of school supplies for Ryan is relatively short (and we can use a few things from last year). It still looks like it will be a $40 hit or so (last year was about $60 if I remember right).

How much do you usually spend?

for Jacob, I had to supply a backpack, gym shoes (that stay at school) and $20

for Lauren, I had to supply backpack, gym shoes, rest mat, sheet protectors and $20

for Matthew it was backpack, gym shoes and a relatively short list of supplies. I would say I spent less than $20 on his stuff.

I will type the list later.
Brandon's is thankfully very short and he has the same teqcher again, so everything that had to be bought, we had.

I always have a stock of crayons (love a fresh crayon box) glue, pencils and notebooks.

Chase's preschool list is a smock, a change of clothes and that's it.

I am very lucky, I am afriad to see what you all neeed to get.

Grace's list was short too, I think I might have spent $15 all together. Scissors, crayons, 6 glue sticks, school glue, markers, pencils, red pencils, 3 boxes of tissues, and a bottle of hand sanitizer. The art smock, lunch box and back pack are the same ones she's had since preschool.

I put down a $10 deposit at the end of the previous year, and then come the beginning of the schoolyear (at Meet The Teacher Night) I pay $28 and Sam's school supplies come pre-assembled and packed up and ready to go to his classroom.

There's quite a significant amount though - all kinds of manilla paper, regular paper, notebooks, spirals, pens/pencils/markers/crayons, scissors, etc. etc.

I think its totally worth the cost though, instead of going from store to store (who are usually out of certain things) chasing down all kinds of supplies.

I think I end up paying about $25 in school supplies for each of the boys. (That doesn't include backpacks, which we usually replace every third year.)

Well since neither one of them came home with supplies from last year, our bill was devastating. I was close to $150 not including shoes.

Tammy= holy moly womn!
$150 - what do you have to buy the desk and chair too?
WTh-
I don't even want to post B's teeny list- his stuff was practially free.

I do wish there was a universal list or at least more time to know, so you can get the stuff on sale- but school sales are usually before our school starts- the storesare on your early start schedule not the slow east coast schedule.

We pay $30 for Austin. A cheque to the school, and the teacher gets to buy in bulk.

Next year (gr 4), we'll have to actually buy back-to-school stuff. Ack.
