My 14 month old has suddenly become a picky eater. He has a fit when I try to put him in his high chair and he hardly eats anything all day. He will eat a good breakfast but lunch and dinner are very stressful for me. He loves yo baby yogurt and will eat 2 containers but the past week or two he will only eat 1/2 of one container. He spits out almost all of the table food that I try to give him. Is it normal for him to still want jarred baby food? I don't give him sweets because I don't keep junk food in the house and he only drinks water and soy milk so it's not like he is filling up with empty calories and doesn't want the good food. He just doesn't want to eat. He has been walking or should I say running since June so maybe he's just too busy to want to eat? I would love to hear what other Mom's have to say about this. Thanks :-)

I hear ya! Ryan would eat almost anyting until he was abut 2 -- then he became mr fussy! He is still fussy.
I just try to make sure he get some balanced nutrition and have decided I'm not going to make food an issue (easier said than done sometimes)

I agree with what you say about him being too busy to eat right now though -- that is common at that age! He is too busy exploring his world. As hard as it can be for us who worry about their eating, he will eat when he's hungry :)

Yep, everything Annie says!
My little one is 7 right now, but I remember one of the things that would stress me out most during his baby/toddlerhood is "getting food into him" - for some reason  (I think we mothers are just "hard wired" about that  )

Looking back (and looking ahead - I'm almost 9 months pregnant again  ), I guess I wouldn't stress about it so much, but continue to "do your part" by offering the good stuff...really, its all you can do. The good news is that you can count on a growth spurt again soon and he'll be eating everything in sight probably!

He ate so well yesterday I hope he keeps it up. I get nervous cause he's so skinny. At 12 months he weighed 19.2 he has another checkup Sept 7th. I want to make sure that he is gaining enough for his age. The Doctor has already told me that I have a petite child. Although he makes up for it in his height so I shouldn't be worried. Thanks for the response. TTFN
