Epilepsy?

A friend found out over Christmas that her 8 year old daughter has epilepsy. She is pretty scared about it all. Anyone have any experience with this??

i have a couple of friends that have children with epilepsy. 2 are controlled with meds and one has such a severe form it affects their entire life (they don't want any more children either because of it). I think as a general rule it can be controlled by meds. There are support groups on line too if shes looking for someone to talk to. Tell her to do a search and I'm sure she'll come up with something.
