I am so proud of Ryan :)
He decided he wanted to try hockey -- he and his friend signed up for the recreational hockey on Tuesday after school.
Now, Ryan could barely skate -- we had him out a few times in the past, and a before his first hockey day, but that was about it. He spent most of his first day of hockey spread out on the ice -- falling, going a few feet, and falling again (I'm so glad I wasn't there -- I couldn't have stood it). He said he was never going again.
Well, we explained that it was ok -- and that skating and hockey were not easy. We took him skating again that weekend. He did go back to hockey, and did a bit better. We've gone skating a few times since them too.
I got off early so I could take him today (DH or the other boy's parents had taken him other times). He has improved his skating so much! I am so proud that he stuck with it, was determined, and is enjoying himself. He's no Gretsky, but I don't care... most of the kids can skate better and get the puck a whole lot more... but I don't care... he's a superstar to me for trying so hard and just for being him!!
