OMG, my new favorite family movie! It is so so so good, and such a beautiful (to look at) movie! :tup:
I'm going to buy it, its that good (imo).
Warning: if you have sensitive kids though, you will probably want to watch it first, or maybe give them a heads-up...there's a tragedy that occurs that is VERY sad.
Although it is tragic, the dad of the boy who treats him so crappily throughout the movie, is really tender and sweet with him when he needs support...that part is sad in a touching way too...I was crying and so was Sam (and he's not especially sensitive).
We've been reading the book, so it was great to watch the movie as we're finishing up the book. :tup: The movie follows the book really well (except, in the movie, the haircolor of the two main characters is reversed from what its supposed to be, according to the book... :huh: ).
SUPERB movie with such interesting topics for discussion. Huge thumbs up from us!
