Rather than teaching your child to "put the toys away" or a generic "clean up" request, consider teaching them instead that "everything has a home".
I've found both my own children - as well as a roomful of preschoolers - tend to be way more enthusiastic about putting something "back in it's home."
This is golden when you're at the store and its time to "put the toy back on the shelf". :nod:
