it seems that we have a party or gathering every weekend from now til Christmas, i'm so dreading the munchies and alcoholic beverages etc. I've worked so hard to get the weight off I don't want to put it all back! I know I can be disciplined enough to plan my day and save calories for an extra glass of wine or an appetizer but it'll be hard.. any ideas/tips you have that have worked for you??

Well, after my FIL and I indulged on each kind of pie served at Thanksgiving ( :lol: ) we decided that we will not feel one bit guilty about it...and that if we have tight control over our eating and exercise habits during the rest of the year (which we both do), then we'll enjoy the holidays fully - we will eat, drink, and be merry - in a wise, still retaining-a-relative-grip kind of way! :D
Here's what I did - and will continue to do thru Christmas - I mentally prepared myself to see the scale inch up a bit and have upped my workouts to not relinquish control (I'm doing some here at home, besides training 2x a week). It has been COOOOLD (raining and snowing here in North Texas) so I haven't been running like I wanted to, but I ran a few times over Thanksgiving, at the inlaws house, on their treadmill. But I fully plan to enjoy food and drink over the holidays - just keep a reasonable level of control over what goes in, calorically, and what goes out... :)
