I'm still working out twice a week...3 times if I can get to my friend Tammy's house on Wednesday mornings (which has only happened about half the time here lately :sorry: ...).
The fates keep putting Tosca Reno ( http://www.oxygenmag.com/ ) and her Clean Eating Diet in front of my eyes lately - my 2 best friends I workout with both subscribe to her Clean Eating Diet webpage and the issue of Oxygen magazine that came in my stocking from Santa has Tosca on the cover. So anyway, now that I've read about her, I want to go check out her cookbook at Barnes & Noble with my giftcard! :D Anyway, she's freaking amazing looking for 50+ years old (her husband is the medical dr./fitness contributor/editor of Oxygen as well) and she didn't start any health-related stuff til she was 40 - truly, OMG, she looks SO good. I'd love to look like that now!
So - I've printed out some "clean eating" recipes to try this week (I'm trying bbq pork strips with some "unclean" mac & cheese  and lima beans) - I just googled "clean eating" and found a bunch...there are not that many on Tosca's page itself...
I also got some 10 lb. weights under the tree on Christmas (in addition to 8's and 5's that I already have) so now I have no excuse to not continue strength training at home on a regular basis (although now I'm starting to use 12 and 15 lb. dumbbells at workout for arm curls and large-muscle stuff! That there is the benefit of having a trainer - I would have NEVER picked up 15 pounders on my own, NEVER, but he plopped the 15's in front of me last night and I laughed in his face, then proceeded to eek out 8 reps of arm curls and bent-over-rows, totally a surprise to me  ). I'd like to start getting back to doing weights every other day here at home in addition to our group workouts, like I was doing over the summer. It literally only takes an hour (or as long as you want to make it), so you can do it while the kids are slumming on the couch - or better yet, WITH them: sometimes after dinner in the eve's, we go into the computer room and crank up whatever Itunes I've downloaded lately, and all get jiggy together, LOL, it's fun! Ronnie either hangs out and laughs at us, or goes and works out in our room while watching football. Charlie uses my little bitty soft 1 pounders (the kind you wear around your wrists when walking) and Sam uses my 5's.
So, I'll be doing all that, plus gradually eating up/throwing out all the leftover Christmas yummies that still linger around here! Then, back to high protein, lowfat we go...!
