Hello, I am new to this site. I'm 19wks pregnant with baby # 2.....I've had really hard pregnancies in the past which requires me to have surgery with each pregnancy. So far so good...

 Welcome! And good luck with your pregnancy!

What were the surgeries for (if you don't mind me asking)?

HI and welcome Lakesha. I hope the pregnancy continues to go well for you. Do you know if you're having a girl or boy?? What do you have now a girl or boy?

Congrats and welcome Lakesha

I hope this pregnancy is uneventful and that you are holding that sweet baby in your arms before you know it :)

#2 is such a joy, you just wait and see

Well, I had 2 previous miscarriages both at 5 months. I have an incompetant cervix. The surgery that I have to go thru each time is called a cervical cerclage. They stictch your cervix so it stays closed like a drawstring. I had the surgery at 13 weeks and they usually take it out at 36/37 wks. They give you an epidural so you won't feel them working on you. I have Dr appts every 2 weeks and ultrasnds like every 4 wks. I know God will work everything out so that eases my worries a bit. I went today to find out the sex but the baby would not co-operate..lol

My daughter will be 5 in April and her name is Heaven.

Thanks for all the replies and I hope you guys will continue to do well also.

 From what I understand, the cervical cerclage works well -- the problem is in not having the incompetent cervix diagnosed, is that right?

Hope all goes well for you! April 5 isn't too far off

Months are measured as nine months on the calendar -- starting one week after your last period :) -- so at 20 weeks, you are about 5 months.

Lakesha, I'm curious to hear how your pregnancy went!

Is everything okay?
