What are your favourite Halloween traditions or activities?

I just love seeing all the little ones in their costumes! :) We don't have anything real special planned. Going to carve our pumpkins today. Ryan's class is having a party at school tomorrow so we baked cookies for that.

Well, we just got back from "Boo at the Zoo"....a fun trick-or-treating event at the National Zoo. We've been every year except for last (due to me and Freddy running the marathon together that weekend)...it's fun. The kids love it and it's a great fundraiser for the zoo.

I think I'm the only one in the world that doesn't "do" the whole trick-or-treating thing in the neighborhood. I just don't like the idea of kids roaming the streets, going door to door....it's just not something I'd ever let them do during the day...why at night? So many parents seem to just push their kids out the door....gives me a bad feeling. So I'm a completely fuddy-duddy stick-in-the-mud and don't condone it. Usually we go to the mall for trick or treating...always warm and dry, no matter what the weather is outside. Stores I know and trust, handing out treats. Perfect for me. :)
