Do you recycle?
We do quite a bit here -- take all bottles, cans etc to the depot... cardboard, plastics, glass to the recycling bins.... I just wish we had curbside pickup!
I'm glas that Ryan is aware of the importance of it all -- and they have recycling bins at the school too.

I recycle everything, although I don't composte (but I wish I did). paul doesn't buy into it at all, he thinks it's a big farce. But I figure I do all I can and then if the big companies don't recycle like they say that's their moral issue! :)

Everything here gets recycled, including food waste. The food waste has it's own bins.

Up until just recently we recycled glass, cans, plastic bottles and newspaper. I would save my cardboard and mixed paper and take it to a friend's house a couple blocks away because the folks in the town of Vienna had curbside pick up for those things too. Now we have curbside pick up for all those things. I've been after Tadgh for about 5 years to build me a compost bin big enough to deal with the leaves as well as the household stuff. I'm still waiting.
I recycle as much as possible. There's a recycling place in town, bins in a few places, but no curbside (we don't even have garbage pickup).
I also joined www.freecycle.org to offer up stuff we don't need but that someone else might use.
:)
I'd like to compost, but the animal threat (specifically bears) isn't my cup of tea!

yup, me too, I recycle everything. But I was wondering...how do you recycle old small batteries, do they go in with the plastic and glass?

But I was wondering...how do you recycle old small batteries, do they go in with the plastic and glass? No, they have to go to a special place because Batteries are a unique product comprised of heavy metals and other elements. These elements threaten our environment if not disposed of properly. :) http://www.earth911.org/master.asp?s=lib&a=electronics/bat_env.asp
You can find one here : http://www.earth911.org/master.asp?s=ls&serviceid=126
There may be others that are not listed too :)

We recycled on base, but it isn't available where we live now..
I burn most of our paper and cardboard.
