Avent
Avent
was launched in England in 1984, when Edward Atkin and his
wife were faced with a familiar parental challenge: trying
to bottle feed their breastfed son. He soon realized that
their baby was having difficulty drinking the supplementary
formula from a standard bottle nipple. So Cannon Rubber executive
Edward Atkin set out to design a better bottle. His invention
became the Avent Nipple.
Next,
Avent modified the traditional baby bottle shape. At the time,
the infant feeding market only offered tall, thin bottles.
Avent was the first to introduce a short, wide-necked bottle
that was easier to hold and clean.
In 1997
Avent introduced the Isis Breast Pump, giving mothers flexibility
when continuing to breastfeed. Combining soft cushion 'petals'
and a silicone diaphragm, the Isis was designed to stimulate
let-down and mimic a baby's suckling.
As a fully
integrated, clinically demonstrated infant feeding system,
Avent is still the only one of its kind. Only Avent products
are designed to offer interchangeable flexibility that allows
your child to switch easily between breast, bottle and cup.
