If
you are anything like me, you actually hate charts showing what
the average heights and weights are for children! Many parents worry
when their child doesn't fit into the slot for their age. The fact
of the matter is that all children are different and average is
just that -- an average. Your child may be higher or lower than
the numbers shown here and still be perfectly healthy! If you have
any concerns, please discuss them with your physician.
These
charts are metric (kilograms and centimeters).
If
you prefer to think in imperial measurements:
1 centimetre = 0.3937 inches
1
kilogram = 2.2046 pounds
So, if you wish to know the imperial weight for a newborn boy, it
is 3.3 kg X .2.2046 = 7.27 pounds.
