Your
Baby's First Year ~ Month 8
Your
baby may start to protest if you leave him too long, thanks
to the onset of separation anxiety. This is the time when
your baby may start to show extreme attachment to you, and
a dislike for others.
Your
baby may also:
-
Protest when you take a toy or other object away
- Feed
himself a cracker
- Get
into a sitting position from his stomach
- Pick
up a tiny object with his thumb and forefinger
-
Understand (but not always obey) the word "no"
- Crawl
Babies
develop at such different rates in the first year. Just because
your baby isn't doing some of the things mentioned here, it
doesn't mean he is 'slow', just as a baby that has been doing
these things for a while is not necessarily 'advanced'.
With
a baby in the house, it's often hard to find time for yourself,
or your relationship
with your partner. It is important to make time for yourself
and each other. A happy home makes for a happier baby too.
